Looking to get a 300 GLE. I like the enclosed pilot house. Are Baha's solid boats? I know they're not fancy in any sense of the word, and very "businessy". But are they solid and durable? And how bout them Suzuki outboards?

Re: Baha Cruisers

It depends on the year of the boat, they are a no frills low maintence boat and the $ reflect that.
In 1996 they started useing a treated wood, so 1995 and below could have (but not would have ) wood rot and transom problems. they also use cement to ballast the boat, I feel a survey is necessary, I have a 1995 in good condition but if I had got a survey I would have paid less, it is worth it.
You mentioned outboards....can't help you there except that they are in the top 3 in the sites I read.
good luck

Re: Baha Cruisers

Honestly, Baha Cruisers would never be considered 'solid' in any seaman's terms. Sure, year matters to some degree, but even at their best (talk about relative terms) they are thin-hulled, poorly built and not solid at all.

I'd be pressed to find another brand that stands out in my mind more then Baha Cruisers for being a flimsy boat.

Just one example found in 10 seconds of searching. Feel free to look for good, objective reviews that shed good light on the brand:

Surely a better brand that has depreciated over the years but stood up better is a better way to spend dough and might cost less after all is said and done.
