I've had this boat for about 2 years now. Purchased non-running with 32 hours on the hull. Is currently equipped with twin 225 hp volvo 4.3 MPI I/O jack shafts. Long story short I had one bad engine that we replaced. While sitting in storage due to no time to work on it the drain plugs clogged and filled the boat up with water (both engines went under). Everything is now badly rusted. I've now abondoned the idea of fixing the I/O's and going with outboard conversion now. I've seen almost all the I/O powered 270's converted to outboards. All have had 225 hp 4 stroke outboards. My mechanic has a great deal on a set of Yamaha F300 4 strokes that I plan on putting on this boat. Question is what can this boat actually handle? I've seen the factory outboard versions with twin 250's. I'm pretty sure the transom is more than strong enough. 3.5" thick transom that is heavily reinforced. Having a custom full width bracket built for 600 hp.

your boat, however I have yet to see a converted hull that people are happy with.
