It's just a hose with a weighted screened intake. You drop it in the bilge, and the motor sucks up the water and dumps it overboard. You should be able to find something suitable at a hardware store.
so I plug a hose on the nipple sticking out the side of the housing and connect a weight and sceen to the other end and let it sit inside the boat to remove any water that comes into the boat right ? Got a picture or know where there's a video ?
Its pretty basic but it does require a good 2nd impeller. I think they were problematic do to crap in the water. The Scott guy may have pictures.
As I recall the foot was square on some and I think had some weight to it so it would lay still in the boat.
I have a 68 Scott and my bailer works great. i just pushed a suitable size piece of hose about 2-3 ft long and let it lay in the back of boat. that way i can move it around and let it suck any water out of boat.
I think the bailer ideal was great and wish that others had also put it on thier motors.
if that was a question then the answer is yes, i only buy one impeller when i need to replace and just keep a used one for the bailer as if it is not working correctly no problem but if cooling impeller is bad all kinds of trouble
