Maby it's just me. Went on line to find a source for Prop repair. Prop MD, Ben Godsave has on his web site "Repair 13" alum prop foe $45.00 plus $10.00 return shipping plus whatever I can ship it to him for. I elected to print the shipping label from his web page for the $0.01 charge to my credit card in order to get the repair pre paid. To my surprise, the bill came in at $80.00, not the $55.00 I expected. He said the additional charge was for the printed shipping label to him or it cost me $25.00 to ship it to him. The preprinted label is a scam. Just my opinion.

Really sucks when you can buy a brand new aluminum prop for $100 or less.

Have you ever shipped a prop? UPS Ground will run about that amount for them to ship from a UPS store. Especially if you have them box it up. Is it bait and switch? Maybe- did you expect the shipping to be free?

I really don't see it as a scam. I just went to the site, printed the packing slip (free). Right at the top, under Packing Slip is a * that notes
"Customer pays INBOUND Shipping Repair Prices"

So your inbound freight was $25 to him, probably rounded up and a service charge for him being responsible for and keeping track of your incoming freight. Don't forget, he is now responsible for paying UPS for your incoming freight.

In the future, just print the packing slip, and send it the cheapest way you can find in your area, and pay the freight and send it.
