Baja Blast Engine Hatch Piston

I have a 1994 Baja Blast that is missing the engine hatch piston(holds hatch up when open). I am trying to find out what piston was used so I can buy the correct pressure piston. I have found out that Baja Inc. is no longer in existance so I can not get any information from them.

I am hopeing that someone that has a Blast could see if there are any numbers on their piston or has a parts manual with part numbers they could get for me.

Thanks

Baja was part of Brunswick when your boat was built; you might try their customer service department. All of the "old" information remained with Brunswick, the "new" stuff went to Fountain before they went broke.

You may be over thinking this. We replaced the ones on a friends Baja and bought them at NAPA. I know we had to get the length correct, but don't remember anything about pressure.

The Blast is a neat little boat. Don't see many of them.

Weigh the cover with something like a fish scale. Then you can use that weight as an approx weight to spec the new cylinder. You will want it rated just a bit heavier IIRC because of the lift angle.

Think I am all set, contacted Brunswick Marine division today and they were able to give me the information for 1996-97 models. I know the hatches are different but it should be close. 40psi 9.5" compressed 15" extended. Buddy at NAPA is going to find me one.

Thanks for the information.
