Well i do not really know were to put this post! as it could be applied to all makes!!

what i have is a inboard outboard omc 400 some will ask so its a 1979.
well on the pivot end caps on the outboard i have a garden hose connector on the drivers side pivot end cap,
the hose cap has a stainless steel ball chain connected to it, at the other end there is anther connector end that
bolts back up to the end cap the chain is so you dont lose the hose cap!
well were in the hell do you find the connector end for a 1/4 inch bolt???

i have looked, have asked Napa Auto they kind of just said hu??
i dont know what the ends are called hell allen marine said he did not know

Re: Ball Chain bolt ends??

go to the hardware section of west marine. Go to the chain area and look there.

Also, you can get them in the chain/rope/cord/etc section at HomeDepot/Lowes (find the ceiling fan / lamp chain replacement stuff). Prolly wont be stainless steal there though...

Hope this helps... BTW bring a picture to the store with you.
No matter how well you describe it, the brainless associate in the store will stare at you like a deer in the headlights if you can't show them a picture...
