Ball point??

I'm still looking to replace the bladder in my ol' inker! :D

Isn't it amazing how technology has weaseled its way into even the smallest and simplest things?
Who'd even think of what ingenuity has gone into a ballpoint pen?

An interesting time to be living in I think.

As for the "leaker", you must have just bought a new shirt!:D

Mine don't leak, but they only write when it is convenient for them. Every note pad I have (that's a lot) has squiggles at the top right corner where I scratched a ball point to get it started.

Re: Ball Point Pens

I don't know. Before I answer that question, I will need to know the model number and serial number of the pen in question. I will also need to know whether it is a long shaft or short shaft model, as well as whether it is a right notation model or a left notation model.

In fact, I think you should review the "Reviving An Old, Leaky Pen" sticky, before asking any more questions!

Pretty sure I've got an old leaky ball point pen out behind the shop. I'll go look for it later. If you want it, pm me your address and I'll send it to you.

sorry jay; the sticky didnt cover. the offending pen is a clear BIC. its serial #952081635266 model #IIVI
it seems to be medium shaft with black ink and a clear outer cover.
i cant tell if its a right or left hand rotation. could it be they had both, or do'es it have to be one or the other?
at work now so can't see it, but want to get parts so i can fix this weekend
thanks for the help

You can cross reference that with;

"How to get rid of" ink stains from leaky pens on your new shirt.

Re: Ball Point Pens

This stuff will take ink off of hands and clothes.

http://www.dharmatrading.com/red.html (ReDuRan)

We found about it when we worked in a textile mill dying carpet. This stuff takes it right off. I don't know how it works, but it's not a petroleum solvent. It has a slight exothermic reaction (heat) when you rub it on with a little water. It works on dyes, but not paints. It will sometimes (but not always) discolor fabrics.

BTW, I've never bought anything from the company I linked. It was just at the top of my Google search of "reduran".

If that doesn't answer your question.... Run a search across all of the forums with the key word "LEAK" then read all of the posts relevant to your search. If memory serves my right this was all covered in an old thread from 2002...

Didn't OOPS do a thread on extending a pen by two inches?
