$1500 for a water ready 22ft boat sounds like a really good deal to me. As long as it runs good then I would jump at it bud.

Great deal. You so rarely find I/O Starcrafts with anything bigger than a 4 cyl motor so that 6 is a nice find.

I e-mailed the fellow and he stated that their is a little trouble with the trim and the seal around the I.O. is leaking.By the way the trailer is included.

Yup. What they said.

For reference, I bought my hull ('75 Islander) for $700 and motor for (165 hp inline 6) for $900 so you'd be a little ahead of me and I still had to gut the interior and re-do everything. If the interior and wood (transom, deck, cabin walls) truly doesn't need replacing, then you're WAY ahead of me.

I'll be pulling my motor and re-doing the entire transom seal and bellows soon, so if you jump on this one, subscribe to my thread (in my signature below) and watch me do it wrong a couple more times so you can learn from my mistakes.

I'd agree with all these guys ^^^^^, but....

"inside all redone" is sometimes concerning. Did the current owner use pressure treated wood? If he did, you are ripping it all out and rebuilding. Did he use exterior grade ply? OK, cool. Did he use marine grade all sealed up with 3+ coats of epoxy resin? Sweeeeet!:)

Also, "seal around the IO is leaking" may be an indication that the transom is shot and needs replacing too. Trim work (well any IO work actually) can be pricey sometimes.

I bring that stuff up as we'd hate for you to grab that boat thinking she is ready to rock, turn key water ready, when you have some pretty major work ahead. Knowwhattamean?

All that said, Starcraft Islander hull, running I6, plus trailer, $1500, good deal in my book!

Now, if we only had a photo. Rats.

I would do that in a heartbeat. That would be atleast double the price here on the west coast.Which kills me.

Seals (bellows) leaking is no biggie in my book. Transom rotted, use this to negotiate the price down. 6 banger is a HUGE bonus for me. Those six cylinder chevy's are awesome motors.

Transom solid, buy now.
Transom rotted price it lower but still buy.

Jason's right, make sure there's no pressure trated wood.
