Ballpark on cost for starter / plug change

my starter is toast. the guy changing it has done work for me before and i feel he always done right by me but just want to get an idea of what it should cost me so i can see if he is really taking care of me.<br />Changing the started on a 454 mercruiser magnum<br /><br />also having him change the plugs / wires.<br /><br />what do you think for the starter -parts and labor and labor on the plug change (know how much they cost!)<br />Thanks

Depends on the boat....<br />Sometimes ya gotta take out the engine to change the oil filter ;) .....JK

What JK is Saying,....... It Depends on How Much of the Boat has to be taken apart to get TO the parts being Replaced.........<br /><br />Just a Ballpark figure would be Between $500.00,+ $5000.00..........Parts Included...... :D

that was my guess, that crap is under the motor, just found out they changed it for my friend last year at his house so I do not think the motor has to be pulled.
