Ballpark on cost for starter / plug change

my starter is toast. the guy changing it has done work for me before and i feel he always done right by me but just want to get an idea of what it should cost me so i can see if he is really taking care of me.<br />Changing the started on a 454 mercruiser magnum<br /><br />also having him change the plugs / wires.<br /><br />what do you think for the starter -parts and labor and labor on the plug change (know how much they cost!)<br />Thanks

Depends on the boat....<br />Sometimes ya gotta take out the engine to change the oil filter .....JK

What JK is Saying,....... It Depends on How Much of the Boat has to be taken apart to get TO the parts being Replaced.........<br /><br />Just a Ballpark figure would be Between $500.00,+ $5000.00..........Parts Included......

that was my guess, that crap is under the motor, just found out they changed it for my friend last year at his house so I do not think the motor has to be pulled.
