Thank you, Mr. Winters!

"Band of Brothers" was far too realistic for the American public. We tend to forget and it's easy to do so. Heck, we've forgotten 9/11.

To me, it was everything that my father, that has passed, went through. A whole new respect.

I "snicker" at todays: Bad Boys. Black trucks, jacked up driven by idiots that think they are bulletproof. Put them in a forest or jungle with bullets flying over their heads. Let's see how they handle that?

The Greatest Generation is being forgotten. Not in my book.

I have never been in the military but I duly respect those that have.

I am sorry to hear that, I had occasion to speak to **** over the years I served in the Military, he was a class act and his contributions to the freedoms we have enjoyed so long is priceless.

Rest in Peace. Major, your duty is done, your service to this country will never be forgotten, I salute you!

Re: Band of Brothers **** Winters Has Passed

My family has had members in uniform serving our nation's interests for at least 6 generations. We have the very great fortune to have never lost a family member in combat, though many have gone in harm's way. Military service is viewed as an obligation and a priviledge.

**** Winters and his Band represented the best that our nation had to offer in a time when great heroes were everywhere one turned. His modesty, wisdom and leadership are inspiring. They did not respond to family tradition, they responded to desperate need and lay their lives on the line to ensure that we at home would be safe and remain free.

Winters is among the greatest of the greatest generation, made so by the times and the need. There are hundreds of Bands of Brothers in Iraq and Afghanistan today for whom I am eternally grateful. They honor the Greatest Generation by carrying foreward the greatness of men like **** Winters.

Forget?? Hah!! Not by the hair of my chinny chin chin.

I'm sorry, but could people either look at what they have typed, or get someone to proof read their post.

No way, I'm sorry to hear that. I love that mini series and actually bought the DVD's. Very realistic and they give you a slight sense of what our WWII heroes went through. God bless.
