What kind of gas you runnin to get 22,000 rpm. Must be a hell of a motor.

Re: banging and bouncing

Some things to look into about the stalling problem to begin with: Getting fuel? Getting spark? Air supply not restricted? Is the gas fresh? Water in the gas? Loose electrical connections? Good plugs?

For the "bleeding down" of the motor, do you mean it lowers down when you are not running the boat and have the motor tilted up? Check the fluid level and look for leaks in the hydraulic system, if that is your situation.

Re: banging and bouncing

i experienced the same bouncing sensation on my 125 force and it was the clutch dog that was starting to go bad . you should have it replaced asap as alot of the gears are obsolete

thanks for the info. yes the tilt bleeds down from upright, but trim is fine i think. i checked the inline filter is full of rust will replace filter, and check filters on pump i ordered plugs will replace, and check the clutch dog engine doesnt seem to race up or down when noise is present.and it happens under all engine loads will not do it if not under load. out of water with hose on it even when in forward gear

Have you checked to see if you have a spun prop? Draw a straight line from the prop to the prop nut using a permanant magic marker or finger nail polish. When motor repeats the symptoms you mentioned in your post check to see if the line you made is still straight. If not you will need to replace or repair your prop. A spun prop usually shows when motor is at higher rpms.

Re: banging and bouncing

My engine did not race up or down when it bounced nor did it if not under a load . If you check for a spun prop and find thats not the problem you should really consider checking the clutch dog . i spent alot of time and $ tryin to avoid having to go into lower unit but when i finally did it my prob was resolved . Good Luck

If you have removable gas tanks check to make sure you have the vent screw all the way open.
