Last night I installed wall outlets and cover plates on a 20amp circuit that only feeds the wall outlets. Crossed my fingers and threw the breaker on. It did not trip! Whoo Hoo! Tested all outlets and everything is fine. It really is a simple circuit, but knowing that there are 200+ feet of wire in the walls, there is always the chance of running a nail or screw through the wire by accident. And everything is painted now, so I hate to have to cut into it all.

Its nice to finally get the extension cords put away and plug the work lights and power tools directly in the wall.

Also finished all the trim work except one wall (have to paint the trim first). Next is clear out the unneeded temp work bench and supplies, that pile of 2x4, 2x2 and 2x6 cut off ends, the pile of left over sheetrock pieces, etc.

Of course, my wife wants me to paint one wall a different color. It is fine as it is, but you know women..... We did a two color design, three walls are a light beige/bone color and one wall is a light blue/grey. That means the trim on the beige walls is blue, the the trim on the blue wall is beige. Looks really nice, but takes longer. To complicate things, the bottom 1 foot of the walls is pressure treated plywood just in case I ever get water in there. Where the ply meets the sheetrock I used finished 1 1/4" flat strips as molding to cover the seam. Again, the beige wall gets a blue molding and the blue wall gets a beige molding. Wife was a bit nervous about how it would look, but after seeing it painted and installed she is a happy camper. I have to admit having that stripe down the wall about 14" from the floor looks very contemporary. I'll have to post some pics of this.

This is a good time to take a break from the basement and work on the boat!
