I'm putting a 19' glass bass boat back together. Boat had pedestal fishing seats front and back and a bench type seat across the middle.
This bench seat had driver passenger seperate buckets "moulded" into it, and a middle style seat.
It weighed about 200lbs and was pretty much junk. (as were the pedestal seats).

After much thinking on what to do about recovering the middle and what to buy for the front and back....I settled on two late model style (cool looking) front and back pedestal seats. At the time I bought them, I was going to have the bench seat re-designed to match the style/design of the pedestal seats.

New idea.
I'll take the two lightweight pedestal seats and install them in the driver/passenger locations via pedestal holders. I'll countersink the pedestal holders in place, and drop the seats down into the holes with no extensions.
(I'll do something similar in the middle with a bicycle style seat).
When finished, I'll have seating for three in the middle. When I get to the fishin hole, I'll pick up the passenger seat and stick it on the pedestal in the rear. Bicycle style seat up front.
More room in boat and nobody is stepping on the seat cushions.
When towing, the seats will be in the middle with the backs snapped down. Just more protected from mother nature that way.
Boat will be lots lighter, lots less cluttered up, and....a bass boat with no seats sticking up just "looks" cleaner.

Whatchatink?
