Oil injected motor. Model #TJ60TLETD Had it recently taken to Marine shop where they power washed the pontoon it is on. Had him look it over so it would run alright. Said switch fell apart so had him put new one on. Did not stay running for him looked at carbs he said someone did not plug oil therefore filled carbs with oil he flushed them out put pontoon in water ran for short ways sounded great On way over to my dock the oil warning came on with plenty of oil in container My question can I have the injector taken off and add oil manually to gas Also what yr is it. Pontoon is 1993 It is 60 horsepower

DD1234,<br /><br />It is indeed a '93 Motor. Not sure exactly where you're at on this one. Which Switch? Low oil Switch or Sensor? In any case, you can do away with the VRO if you want. A little more info would help diagnose your problem. Did it run good before this happened? Any problems with the VRO?

Rick thanks for questioning. I am new at this boating he replaced the key switch on the pontoon that turns on the motor. By VRO I am guessing you mean the oil injector! Yes it ran great for about 15 minutes before the warning sound (short beeps)came on then wanted to die on me but did not and I got it to my dock It was stored in a dry compound for 2 years before this. Before putting in dry dock ran perfectly for me. A neighbor said he can take out the oil injector for me so thought I would ask around first.Thanks for any info. DD

DD1234,<br /><br />Yes, you can disconnect it. To do so, just unplug the oil line at the engine and make sure you cap off the engine end (nipple). Also disconnect the wires at the oil injection pump. Run 50:1.<br /><br />However, I would try cleaning the tank first.<br /><br />1. Remove the top and suction line.<br /><br />2. Dump out and discard the old oil.<br /><br />3. Replace the pick up tube sock strainer.<br /><br />4. Refill with new oil and mark oil level on tank.<br /><br />5. Run 50:1 premix until you can verify oil useage.
