I have 2 napa 7269 8D batteries on my boat and looks like they are starting to fail, anyone have an opinion on replacing with same or 4 smaller to get the 1340CCA from each of these? They act as a house battery for lights as well and I have twin 471 detriots to crank over

You are lucky.

Most people FEAR a sudden death of a aging cranking battery. or a brand new reject. You also run the lights off them.........

I Run seperate batteries on a 16' Lowe Aluminum fishing boat with a 9.9 hp...........I am old chicken.
I use 2 lawn mower batteries. 1 for engine & 1 for everything else.

I leave fishfinder & or the lights on for days. or until someone tells me.
