Hi All,

Here's today's problem, I am ready to go out on the water, my battery already removed (by mechanic) I go to put in the battery and find many cables that go to the battery, I call mechanic for guidence he is away till May 1st. (CRAP). I checked the wiring diagram simple it says Black, negative, red positive. Boat, 2 red cables thick one plain, one in corragated plastic, one black cable plain, thick, two thick yellow cable one marked negative side only. Finally two smaller wires marked sound system both odd colors. Anyone know this puzzle? Oh, it's a 2005 Bayliner 3.0L Merc body style is 185.

Thanks for any and all help!!!!!!
I still may have time to hit the river......

Re: Battery Cable Help Needed

Put your battery in the tray in the same orientation from when it was removed. If you don't know or can't remember the orientation, put the + side nearest to the red cables. Then see if there is a natural way the cables connect to the battery. In my boat, only if the batteries are installed in the correct orientation will the various cables reach the proper terminals. Good luck!

Re: Battery Cable Help Needed

The red cables go to the pos. terminal. bayliner also uses yellow cables for grounds so the black and yellow ones go to the neg. terminal.I'm not sure of the sound system but if one has a inline fuse it more than likley goes to the pos. terminal.I'm sure you can live without your tunes for a day.
