Hey Guys,

I am the proud new owner of a yamaha T9.9, and had a question on qick disconnects for the battery cables..when I had it installed, the dealer routed the battery cables to the battery switch versus direct to the battery. this makes disconnecting the motor for storage difficult. Are there marine grade quick disconnects for battery cables out there? Any reccommendations?

thanks!

Not sure they are marine grade but they are used on winches which are in the weather at all times. They are also designed that you cannot hook the cables up backwards. I have them on my truck winch and I also put them on one end of my jumper cables so I can just unhhok the winch and hook up the cables without fear of gettin backwards. I also have a small pigtail with one installed that stays on my boat battery. That way of I ever take it out I never get the terminals crossed and blow a rectifier and I don't have to deal with bolts and wingnuts. Never an issue and I have used them for years. Just solder the ends to the cable before you put them in the plastic housing.

Might want to check out quick dissconnect plugs used for snow plow setups. I have them in the boat. Might be the same thing as LH just mentioned.

also check out the slave cables the military uses, just like an oversized a/v jack...
