battery charge from Mercury 8hp outboard ?

Hello folks,i am fairly new to this forum & Mercury outboards & am thinking about buying a 2019, but still in the box, Mercury 8 hp 8mlh (pull start) & would like to know if it has a way to charge the battery like my Honda 8 did. i think it was called a rectifier on the Honda & it put out 5w @5500 rpms. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me !

The spec sheet should tell you. Most electric start designers realize that to do that you need a battery and that needs a charger, usually unregulated on smaller engines. Manual start, maybe not but some do have a charging ckt knowing that boats require lights to run at night and that too means a battery.
