Promarine Prosport gen 2 charger died after ~ 2 yrs (pontoon w/ 2 batteries). (After bad storm, it may have had lightning damage). Contacted the company and they said send it in. Just received a replacement unit in return. This company restores my confidence in good customer service. Will definitely buy more product from them. The unit itself (before the lightning) worked great and I just plug in at the dock and leave (boat sits in water all year) Never had an issue.
Thanks and great job Promarine!

There are some good companies out there that stand by their product without question. Sounds like you found one, SS.

Probably another reason iboats carries the Promariner line in the store, a good product backed by the manufacturer.

Did you actually tell them you think it was a lightening strike? OR did you just tell them it suddenly stopped working?

shrew, I understand what you are trying to say. But unless he actually seen a lightening strike, wouldn't it be mere speculation either way? JMHO!

I have heard similar stories of Promariner standing behind their product like they did with you. I`m glad I have one, although no problems with it.

It is purely speculation, I agree. I'm just curious. The OP is quick to both state he suspects a lightening strike is the source AND that the Promariner support is phenomenal. It was then posted that they 'stand behind their work without question'. So I'm curious. Are they standing behind their work without question, or was there more information divulged here than to Promariner customer service??

So I'm judging by the crickets that the answer is NO, it was not divulged to them that it is suspected that it was hit by a lightening strike. Nice job misrepresenting.

If he doesn't know it was lightning (not lightening), I can't imagine he'd be under any obligation to speculate to the manufacturer as to what went wrong. Further, not telling somebody something you don't know doesn't quite seem to be misrepresentation.

If lightning struck a boat there would be pretty obvious signs, and if there was simply stormy weather in the area but the rest of the boat continued to function fine, I can easily see where ProMariner would want to help out the owner and fix it for free. The manufacturer can probably tell what caused the problem much more quickly and accurately than the boat owner, and is in the best position to estimate the likely cause of the failure.
