What's the best way to charge a deep cycle? I've been having a cheap charger for years with the option to charge using 2amps or 6amps. I've always charged using the slower 2amp option b/c I think I remember hearing that slow charge was better than fast charge. What's the scoop on this?

You are right on the money TB.A slow charge is always best but most people are in too much of a hurry to wait for the slow charge.Charlie

Re: battery charging

The last two batterys I got this summer recommend using a 40 amp charger. the chart that came with them showed a charge time of 18hrs for a battery that reads 12.10 volts with a 10 amp charger. How many days would you have to leave a battery charge at 2 amps? I use the last two for a camper with a large inverter to run the toys and I can take two full batterys down into the high 10's in a couple of days, at 2 amps it would take me a week to recharge between trips.
