Book says min 350 cranking amps with 100 min res cap. I hope you are not reving your motor up a lot with just the muffs on.

You can't have too much cranking power -- just too little. 350 CCA is the smallest I'd put on that size engine. 550 - 600 is just a couple of bucks more and although it will not spin the engine faster for starting, it will spin it a lot longer if it doesn't pop off and it also provides more capacity for any accessories you may be running off of it. In comparison, my 20 HP lawn tractor has a 350 CCA battery in it. Not exactly what I want on a 90 HP engine.
