Hi, can someone pl. recommend a marine battery for a Min Kota 50# trolling motor. Can I use a marine battery whether the normal 675 cranking amp w/120 amp hrs or an even better type thats more expensive. Will this higher price battery (ex:Optima) be compatible with this 50#trolling motor. Is it worth it?, Do they last longer? What about a deep cycle charger? My charger has for deep cycle 12v. Can I use that charger instead of buying a new one or is it better to get a recommended unit. Also must the battery be charged often during storage time frames. Sorry about all the quests. I am totally new to this and really appreciate any help or advice.
Thanks folks!

For maximum trolling time get the largest deep cycle battery you can. You can use your charger if its made for deep cycle batteries. Be sure to recharge asap after every use to prolong the life of the battery. A battery maintainer would be a good choice for winter use when you are not using it.

Thank you Sir Bill, for your reply. It is very good advice. I feel better about my decision to purchase a trolling motor over a gas outboard. Forget the gas outboard, noisy and smelly. I think I'll have alot more fun fishing with a trolling motor. I'll coninue to do my research in order to maintain this battery investment I'll soon execute. Thanks again. USA PROUD IN TEXAS!!!
