Battery not charging

I have a 1993 Mariner 25 horse motor. The battery is not charging. I went to mercruiserparts.com and the diagram shows an aux. stator coil. I am assumimg that is my "charging" coil being that the motor runs perfect? Can I test the voltage regulator? Does anyone know what the reading should be across the coil or what color the leads are? I am in the process of tracking down a manual. Any tips on where to look would be appreciated. <br />Thanks

Go to the upper left part of your screen and click on manuals.

Re: Battery not charging

I don't have a tachometer. I did find a manual at the library last night. The rectifier is part number 816770. It has 3 poles and a grounding tab. I tried to check it as the manual says, but it isn't very specific. I then tested it as a bridge rectifier (4 diodes) on an oscilloscope, and it checks bad on 2 diodes. I guess I will try to find a good one and check it against that. Thanks for the replies, I really appreciate it.
