We are trying to get an old 1962 15 foot Glasspar with an older 1957 35hp Johnson Sea Horse running and when we got the boat it looks as if the battery was between the front and back seats. (probably not originally though) Anyway, I have read that the battery should be close to the outboard motor is that correct? Also we have the old type of outboard that has one of those pressurized fuel tanks. Does that make a difference? If the pressurized tank is near the motor and the battery, I wouldnt want to have an explosion!

Re: Battery Placement

as i said to you earlier, any where in the boat is fine, no worries with battey and tank being side by side.
