Battery question for Ranger 374V

I recently bought a 1989 Ranger 374V. Currently it has 3 batteries installed which need to be replaced. Two are group 27 and one group 24. It appears that one of the group 27 is the cranking battery and the other two for electrical needs. I want to replace all 3. My question is can I use one AGM battery and replace the others with a standard deep cycle marine batttery? I'm thinking to get one Duracell AGM SL34 MAGM and two Duracell Marine 24 DC. Is this feasible or should all the batteries be the same 'type'?

AGM and Lead acid batteries charge at different rates. While you could get away with this so long as you use different charges, or use a charger to charge your deep cycles and use the motor to charge your start bat

Thank you for your reply AllDodge. I do have a battery charger that charges both standard and AGM batteries. I'm considering purchasing two AGM's for the electrics and a lead acid battery for cranking the motor. So two Duracell SL34MAGM and one 24DC. You think that will work?

I'm thinking your "one 24VDC" was a mistype, two bats together for 24VDC and one start for 12VDC

In any case, You can bulk charge either type with either type charger, but the float levels are different. While the charger can charge different type bats, I have not found one which can charge different types at the same time. Many of the modern chargers have separate leads so having bats in series won't matter, all depends on which model you have
