Re: battery wires

i bought some custom made for a guy on ebay. they were great. just checked ebay did not see any available. you can make your own, just mount the ends, and solder.

Re: battery wires

Anchor Marine makes Battery cable up to 1/0 AWG. The difference is that AWG (American wire gauge) has more strands for the same gauge than SAE (car stuff). The marine AWG wire strands are tin coated to resist corrosion. Defender Marine in Waterford, Conn. sells it by the foot in almost any gauge you need. "Warning" it ain't cheap, 2/0 gauge for my battery to inverter run was $13 a foot.

Re: battery wires

copper has gotten expensive. builders here, do not set the outside air conditioning condensers until the day before the people move in. crack heads stealing them for copper.

Ain't that the truth. We had 2 fellows get fried ("Full Kentucky") up here last summer trying to steal a live 16kv feed to a closed industrial building.

Re: battery wires

Buy the cable that you want, then go to Batteries Plus to buy the cable ends. Batteries Plus has crimpers on site and allowed me to crimp the terminals onto the cable free of charge. I did apply a little dielectric paste inside the terminal ends before crimping and finished the job with a little heat shrink tubing.

hello,

stealing a/c copper was on the houston tv news almost nightly for a while. $200 and $20,000 damage to churches. last one i saw the other day... the guy was stealing copper wire and lit into a live lead... and it lit him up. burned severely... guess, he may rethink such things in future.

well, we can only hope.

regards
lakester

Note the websites 2-14-08 entry:
2/14/2008 - I had marine wire as an option for the custom order page but I have decided to remove it until I get a better source for the wire.

So it sounds like you won't currently be getting marine grade cable.......

genuinedealz is the place for you, they'll have exactly what you need and they sell wiring/cable by the foot. I've ordered several things from them.
