i am looking into buying a 2008 bayliner 205 br. v8, sport seating all the options. is this a good boat it seems like they have a good price for it. anyone have this boat. what is good what is bad. they are selling it as 2008 leftover new. they want 29000 W/ trailer included. what do you guys/gals think they want to give me 3000 for my 87 bayliner capri cuddy cabin 17ft. with and 85 force outboard.

Re: bayliner 205 br

i got to test drive the 2008 Bayliner 205, for bayliner when they were revealing them, fansatic boats, high quality, i would definately buy one, if i were in the market for a new boat.

here is my review of the boat. 3,000 for your boat is great, work with them on the $29,000 price, they have not cut much off the original market price, may be $4,000. which is just 2/3 the depreciation on a new boat, 1 year old,Usually 20 % so depreciation should be $6,000 on the first year. remember we are 6 months into the 2009 models.

Your boat is worth maybe $1500 so they're just working numbers trying not to insult your boat too much.

That's more than ample power for that boat! It should really fly with that engine. I tested one of these last year and wasn't as impressed with it. Oh, not a bad boat i guess, but it was hard to keep it from porpousing (sp?) at certain planing speeds and the dealer riding with me also had trouble with this.

The build quality seemed OK for a lower-priced boat. The hull sure looked like the similar-sized Sea Ray they had (in the water, so couldn't see it all that well). the materials and fit/finish was not as nice as the Sea Ray - no surprise there when you look at the price!

It's such a buyer's market .... but who knows how much they "have to get" for that boat. It's not the listed price, that's for sure.
