I am looking to purchase a 1995 Cierra Sunbridge 2855 w/Bravo II outdrive. Does anyone know how the performance of this drive compares to the Bravo I or the Bravo III (speed, fuel consumption, etc.)? Are the bottom units interchangeable? We're taking it for a sea trial tomorrow (4/16) so it would be helpful to hear ASAP. We have some performance data on a later model with the Bravo III but haven't been able to find much on the Bravo II. Thanks for your time.

Bravo II is a good sturdy unit. I believe that the Bravo uppers are the same, so the lowers should be interchangeable, provided you get the same series unit. I do know that those big aluminum props are expensive (close to $600 new), and you won't have the selection that you'd have with a Bravo I. With a Bravo III, double that price should you need to replace them.

Performance-wise, I don't recall seeing a Bravo I on that boat. The III is probably a better choice, but nothing wrong with the II.
