so im looking to buy this boat for 1000, http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/boa/1583948254.html been talking to the guy about the floor work, says the bow has wood rot which i suspected, what i want to know, is how hard it is to replace, do i just rip up the floor and put new wood down? also are there any guides or books i should read about replacing the floor or what else to look for in the boat? thx guys for helping a newbie like me out :)

Well, ok, I've owned 2 Bayliners...both were very good boats...if they were well cared for, they can last as long as any other well cared for boat.

That is not a well cared for boat, and IMO, is overpriced. If the 125 HP Force is really in good shape...and you have nothing but time and $...then by all means...but, I'd keep looking.

welcome to Iboats,
Whatever you decide to do, the best place to get the information you are asking for is right here. I would do a search of deck and stringer replacement, You will find several threads on the subject with a lot of reading. Most of the older boats that have been stored outside will require some repair.
I'm not going to say whether to buy or run. If you like the boat and it's what you are looking for then that's your choice. If it's not exactly what your looking for keep looking.

i have a 1990 bayliner capri 1700 and am in the middle of the same project. I agree with frisco's assessment "Run Away!".

thanks for the warning guys. what about this boat? bear in mind i wont be paying 2500, i will be tradeing my 76 honda cb550 + some cash
