I was abused by my brother-in-law's new bayliner 217 this weekend. I was stepping through from the rear swim deck to the passenger area. The surface is SUPPOSED to be non slip textured fiberglass.....obviously not when its wet. I was barefooted (mistake number one), stepped on the top rail (mistake number 2) and when I went to step down my right foot slipped straight down into the drain area that is usually below the seat cushon, promptly breaking my right pinky toe and sending me ***-over-teakettle into the bottom of the boat. At which point my very observant son says (over the laughter of other family members) "Dad, I think something is wrong with your toe". My pinky toe was sticking out at a right angle to the rest of my foot! Regaining my thoughts before the pain really set in I grabbed my foot and set the toe back in place then grabbed a bag of ice from the cooler and shoved my foot in it. Needless to say the rest of the day I was either riding or driving the boat cause there was no way in hell I was getting on a knee board! Not that a 275lb guy can knee board but I was gonna try! Oh well maybe in a few months. Rest of the family had fun and that is what matters!
Note to self....buy a pair of them dang slip on "water shoes" so I don't slip and bust my fat ***** anymore...
