Bayliner back to back seat question

I was wondering if anyone removed the back to back seats off a bayliner... If so, is there a huge hole if you take the seat bases off or is it the floor?

I plan to take the back to backs out and replace with a pair of regular seats so I can have more room.

I'm afraid that if I start cutting into the bases, there will be a big hole that I would need to cover up...

Any ideas?

Well not sure what model your talking about, but on all the Capris that I have worked on the base boxes are glassed into the floor. They also have fingers that fit into notches cut out of the floor.

yeah I have a Capri Classic 1600... The bases are indeed glasses in... If I cut the boxes out, and file down/sand down until it is flat... Worst case is the finger notch holes? The floor would still be there? Wanted to make sure the boxes weren't part of the mold.

Thanks for the info.

Yes if you want to remove the bases you can, use a angle grinder on the base and smooth down. I assume you are going to recarpet? Sand/grind down, fill any holes with some glass mat and resin, sand smooth, you are good to go.

I am doing the same thing to my 89 Capri 19' open bow so I have better room AND vision (I am putting in bases that will raise and lower so I can see over the windshield and people)
