1986 Bayliner with Volvo v6 eingine. just change Double universal joint and boot just replaced but now the engine knocks. motor still runs but making that sound. What do you guys think it is?
If the noise just started after the Ujoints were replaced then i would pull the drive back off.Start it up and see if the noise is gone with the drive removed.
If its gone recheck that the ujoints are in correctly.Also make sure all is straight using an alignment tool.
Did you replace the gimbal bearing and what was the reason for the U-joint and bellow replacement? The reason I ask is if you got water in the bellow and it wrecked the u-joints, your gimbal bearing probably needs replaced as well.
