I have had a 1986 Bayliner Capri openbow, 19.5ft, 4cyl (2.3L, volvo penta aq151) with a volvo penta outdrive.

For the last couple years it served its purpose, but I've never been happy with the lack of power its gut less and the engine is pretty much all original so it needs to be addressd.
I would like to change the seating and swap out engine something similar to this :

This guy was able to custom make an engine compartment and throw in a 454!!
2 Questions:
1) Can I switch out my 4cyl for a v8 (305/350/454)?
2) Which would better considering I would still want to fish, entertain, and still hit 50+ knots? [/FONT][/SIZE][/FONT]
