I have a 2006 bayliner 185 bowrider bought new this year and the interior is fading pink. it is a blue and white boat and has no signs of red anywhere yet several spots on the seats are turning color. has anyone else seen this problem. we haven't used any cleaners on the interior except water as it is not even 4 months old.

You should check with your dealer. It could be a warranty or recall issue.

Has anyone been sitting on with a red swim suit? If the suit was wet it is possible that the dye could have seeped out into the seat? Probably not, but its possible I guess.

Was thinking that myself... has anything been dripped on the seats? Even something weird like a soda or drink could discolor the seats.

i think the question really is who did you kill on the boat.

Some vinyls have red thread on the backing mesh and it could be bleed through

Re: bayliner interior problem

Hello,

We had a very similar problem, I was wearing a newer yellow swimsuit and after a couple hours a faint yellow colour appeared in spots. The true with white.
We carry a two 500 ML spray bottles in the boat.
One has approx. a tablespoon of dish soap and about 400 ML of water the other has Lysol 4 in 1, with a fresh lemon scent (Lemon scent make us believe we are in tropics)
And of course a couple soft cloths
The yellow came out with the dish soap and more difficult marks with the Lysol 4 in 1. For example the nail polish from my wifes toes, black carbon on stern and some exterior waterline stains.
The Lysol 4 in 1 also breaks down oily stain in bottom of Ski-locker caused by shifting bilge water. (When on shore a long way from the water, remover all items from ski-locker, spray Lysol where oily stain visible, allow couple minutes and wash with a little water pressure, make sure transom drain plug out and there is a pail to catch water)

We don't fill spray bottles above 400 MLS so that heat expansion will not force liquid out when not wanted.

We also made to seat covers, two beach towels, sewn across top and down sides 18 inches. Again before use wash a couple times to remove any extra dye. These double as seat covers and towels for lounging.

Good luck

Re: bayliner interior problem

that should be covered by the warrenty no matter what ever caused the seats to do that.

Id be all over that since you have 2 years on the interior of new bayliners. My delaer is replacing my carpet since it had a small rip when I bought the boat new and it has since spread 1/2 wall along the aft of the boat. It took a month for my dealer to get the carpet from bayliner but at leats they are doign it this week finally.
