Bayliner water problem

Hi all, I have a 1986 Bayliner bowrider 18 foot. My problem is water entering the back. On either side of the motor shroud ("doghouse") there are two seats which are removable and there is storage space underneath. The one on the port side takes in water when raining. We can't find the source of the leak anywhere. The reason for concern is we had to replace a piece of rotten floor already and we are thinking the water is running from storage space to the middle of the floor. Is this common? Any idea how the water is getting in? By the way, the boat has a water proof tonneau on it when it is sitting.

? nut does your cover go below the entire rub rail? water can enter under the rail & the insert via: rivet and screw holes other than that get in the boat during a good rain with a flash light and search  Good Luck

you mite think the cover is water proof, but over time they start to leak at seams and what not.
the waterproofing/repellant wears out , so you have to spray them, to keep them fresh. 3M makes a good product.
i have a high $$$ cover on my trophy , when it rains its leaks.

Thanks for the great ideas and info guys. Jomac, I took a good look at the rubrail after reading your reply. There was silicone along the top edge of it at one time but most of it is gone. I resealed it so hopefully that was the problem.
