My boat trailer has Bearing Buddy's on it. I recently learned how to replace and repack the bearings on my popup tent trailer, but don't know what to do with the Bearing Buddy's. Do I just add grease till they move out or do they need to be disassembled and regreased completely?

Re: Bearing Buddy maintenance?

The bearings should still be pulled out, inspected, and repacked every few seasons with bearing buddies just as you would if they were not there. They are there to keep a positive pressure on the grease which will hopefully keep water out.

Generally speaking if you can rock the bearing buddy piston back and forth it is full and doesnt need any grease. If you cannot rock the piston, fill the hub until it moves out 1/8" or so.
