There is a different type of puller which is basically two flat steel plates and a threaded rod. Both plates have a hole through their centesr. The smaller one is slid behind the bearing. The larger one sits outside the gimbal housing. The threaded rod goes between them. Tightening the rod pull the inner plate forward, pulling the bearing out. Auto mechanics have this type of bearing puller. Or, as was suggested, get a bigger slide hammer, You can usually rent or borrow a heavy-duty slide hammer from some auto parts supply stores.
