23 years ago I bought a few acres of waterfront property on Erie. Up to 8 years ago we swam a few times a week and I was down there with chest waders on fishing Smallmouth almost every morning. Now I am 64, I haven't been down to the water for 2 years and haven't been in the water for 8 years. And not because I don't want to, I can no longer do it. Age changes activity big time.

I’ve cared for 28 acres for the past 11 years.

It was a lot of work when I bought the place at age 50. Its twice as much work now that I’m 61.

Between mending fence, clearing wedge rows, mowing, downed trees, building and equipment maintenance, etc. the work never ends. This is coming from someone who is in pretty decent shape.

Selling this place and moving into water front condo is looking better all the time. ;)

I don't know what it is but when I hit 60 it was like someone or something squeezed all the energy out of me and replaced it with pain, real pain. At 59 I was playing 4 or 5 rounds of Golf a week, and when I got home at 1PM I often took the boat out and fished for a few hours. Came back at 7 and cut the lawn. Got the clubs cleaned and rods ready for the next day. 6 years ago, the good old days. Those guys I golfed and fished with 6 years ago are in the same boat, if we can get in the thing.

Hienz you go for it, we all don't break down at 60 something. Hopefully you are the one with great DNA. My brother is only 15 months youner than me and still walks 18 holes everyday and does whatever he wants or whatever his new wife will let him do.

Thanks for your reply, yeah I have my real good days, and then the ones that are a tad achy, BUT knowing my body and assortment of steel, nuts and bolts, I DO HAVE to keep active and moving, was crazy, pretty much til I had my accident at the Port at 50, damn, 25 ish pretty good years, maybe a broke toe, bruises, kids baseball, traveling all over for tough work, i just dont bounce the way I used to, LOL! Hmmmm, these are the things I tell my realtor lady :)
