Hello ppl,

The problem i have is that i have taken my boat into a shop to get worked on and this guy is telling me that the Bell crank needs to be replaced because it is bent. the question i have is that i need this done for the entire linkage set up to work correctly. how tough of a job would this be for a DIYer and would there be anything specific that i would need to complete this job as such. i have a 88 bayliner with a 2.3L, inline 4. it has an OMC cobra outdrive. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unless you have the factory service manual and the ability to set the cable adjustments to spec, check engine alignment and install the drive i suggest the shop doing the job is the way to go.
