bellows help

87 alpha one with a 5.0


I replaced the bellows and was wondering if someone has a idea on how to check to see if they leak with out putting it in the water.I live pretty far from the lake and would hate to drive up their and it leaks.The drive shaft one is my main concern.It has a groove it slides in and was wondering if i missed the grove will it leak?I put adheasive on it well alot of it lol.and also is their a was to greese a baring on the shaft on the inside of the boat.I did the one on the outside now im wondering about the inside one.thanks

You have to splash it to look for leaks. Hope ya hit the groove on the bellow,you should have felt it whenit went on. It its not in the groove it will come off and leak alot,really fast. As far as the bearing,you greased the gimble bearing from the outside,there is no bearing on the inside but some have zerks on the copuler for greasing the splines. If you gresed the splines upon assembly they should be ok for the season. If not ya gotta feel around back there and look with a light to see if you have them.
