I have removed my leaking tank from my Ranger 275 and was wondering where I could find a small tank to replace it with. I had to cut the tank to get it out so then new one would have to be no bigger than 12"W X 11"H X 18.5"L. I have searched the net but I cant find one that small anywhere. Guess I might just use that space to store my batteries LOL. Thanks

RJ

are you wanting a plastic one?? If aluminum, you can have one built to any size you want. Any fab shop could do it pretty easily I would think.

Re: Below deck fuel tank

I suggest you keep looking for a plastic one, specifically a boat gas tank. The advantages of an aluminum tank would be lost on such a small tank unless you need to get it custom made as jimmytekid mentions. Also, any boat gas tank must be made to USCG specs and must have a label fixed to it (or molded into the plastic). If you have a tank custom made you are better off going to a place that makes aluminum tanks for boats. This is one area you shouldn’t cut any corners in.

Edit: if I remember correctly, I think you can have a plastic tank made to your specific size requirements by most of the places that make plastic tanks. You might try visiting their websites. See Todd, and also Tempo.

I was wondering if you can fix the opening you made so you can use the Ranger fuel tank. I am sure they have the one you need. Are you saure you want to reduce the size you will reduce your range also. No sense having an awsome boat and not enough "go" juice!
