I have a 1989 4.3L V6 262 CID.
Ok, I understand the deflection test to see if the belt tension is correct, but is there a better way. What I have been doing is laying a ruler between two pullyes on the same belt, applying pressure to the belt and so long as it does not deflect more than the specifications in the manual then I am good to go. Is this correct? I have searched all over the internet and can find no good instructions on how to make sure the belt has the proper tension, so I beg for your help.
Thanks!!
