Bench test rotation sensor?

I am wondering if you can bench test a rotation sensor for the oil injection system? I thought apply +12V to white wire, ground black wire. Insert + test prob on blue/white and - test prob on ground wire. You should be able to simulate the engine turning by using a strong magnet to the end of the sensor. Will that work? Also, if the sensor is connected to the module, should you be seeing a full 12V if you back prob the white wire when the key is on?
Thanks!

Re: Bench test rotation sensor?

Oil alert going off any time the engine is running. Cap float checked out fine, checked DVA at green wire from warning module, fine. I unplugged the white wire and checked for voltage and found 12.1 volts with key on. I plugged it back together and back probed the white wire, the voltage dropped to around 9 volts, is that correct or a failing module? I disconnected the blue/white and checked for the 5V pulse, no voltage. I verified the pump shaft is rotating. I tried a used rotation sensor and had the same results. Can it be bench tested without using the module?

Move the green wire on switchbox to a different cylinder and retest,if same results module has high percentage of being bad. If yours has the loose magnet in bushing if its turned wrong will cause this also.

Are the voltages normal I tested? The CDI 144-4857-16, can it be retrofitted to work in my motor? B36XXXX?
