I have a 1987 johnson j90tlcur. Took out the vro pump and replaced with part# 0438556. Going from the pump to the carb plastic manifold causes a severe bend and kink in the 5/16 hose. I'm coming out of the bottom of the pump, then up the back of the air box and making a 180 degree turn where the vro pump was to get to the plastic carb manifold. Is there a type of fuel line that can be bent by hand with out kinking or some type of fitting that makes a 180 degree turn like the factory fuel filter on this motor?

could you use soft copper pipe at the area of the tight bend, splicing into the hose?

You can use regular hard line from NAPA or where ever, just use something round as a form when you bend it. Also, cut the line AFTER you bend it not before. Buy a 3' stick and make your bend then cut it out of the piece. Flair (single is fine) both ends so the hose wont come off and use good clamps. You should inspect this line regularly as you probably will not be able to find SS line in a auto parts store.

You could try filling the tube with sand, pinching off each end before making the bend.

Thanks to all for the responses. I bought fuel line that is for fuel injection and it was stiff enough not to kink.
