Bendix gear/starter

I cleaned and oiled bushing in my starter. Put back together and will install tomorrow. Question is do I need to put, or is it a good idea to put any type of oil or grease on the bendix gear? Or any parts or the bendix?

Lubricate the starter shaft with light machine oil, Noah.

I just had mine apart, put chassis grease in the bushings and a couple of drops of oil on the bendix spline. Works great!!!

I had the starter together. Just did not put on the bendix gear yet, was waiting for an answer. I will oil shaft and mission acomplished.. Thank you
