Does anyone have experience with the Bennett ATC for their trim tab system. We have a larger deckboat that needs help with listing depending on how many are in the boat. The improvement in hole shot will also be nice but not as big of a deal.

Because the list can change with the load the trim tabs may be adjusting continually during a single outing thus the interest in the ATC.

While I would love to go the smart tab route (have them on a smaller boat and am happy with the difference), my understanding is they would not do much for the list problem (feel free to correct me on this if I am wrong).

Smart tabs would only correct for a "fixed" list. If your issue is lots of different people loads, moving around while running, and at varying times.....then I'd guess adjustable tabs would work well. I have NO experience with Bennett or Lencos, nor with their automatic adjustable options...
RichG TX

Check with Bennett to for information on how quickly they respond. Make sure you get plates that are large enough to do the job.

reference,

I'm Thomas and I work for Bennett Marine in the Client Service Department.

Please provide a bit more information on your deckboat (size, weight, hp, engine configuration, top end speed, cruise speed) and how you will use the vessel, so we will have a better idea of your situation and can offer some trim tab kits that will fit needs and wants. We will also need to know your yourAvailable Mounting Area (determined by starting 3-4" from the chine and measuring to within 8" of the outdrive), since this will provide us with how much room you have to work with for your installation!

We look forward to your reply.

Sincerely,
MJ Thomas
Bennett Marine, Inc.
Client Services
trimtabs@earthlink.net
www.bennetttrimtabs.com

Re: Bennett ATC for trim tabs

Thomas,

Thanks for the reply. The boat is a Rinker 243 siesta. It is almost 24 1/2 feet, weighs 4400 lbs dry, has a 75 gallon fuel tank, 10 gallon fresh water tank, and an additional capacity of 2000lbs gear and people.

It has a Merc 350 MAG rated at 300 prop HP and a Merc Bravo III drive. We generally use the boat on a lake at around 6000 feet above sea level and it runs 48mph. It will be used at Lake Powell and Mead in the future which I anticipate will increase the top speed a couple of miles per hour based on the lower elevation.

Based on my transom measurements and the info on your site the option available on the plates would be the 12" x 12". I can go as high as a 18" span but would not have the space to go beyond that.

My main question relates to the ATC unit as I do not want to have to constantly adjust the tabs manually. I would like to find the best position of the boat and have the tabs automatically maintain that.
