I am all ready sold on the Bennett trim tab system. My question is, despite what you read in promotional material and their site, I want to hear from people that actually have them what diffrences did you notice. I have a 2180 BayStealth with a 150 Yamaha. The hole shot is pretty good and it tops out at about 45 mph. I fish the Bay System so normally always in shallow water and when going to and from can encounter rough channels. I believe I will need the M120 system(correct me if I'm wrong). I appreciate your 'real world' input! Thanks!! :D

Re: Bennett

Baystealth
I added Bennett trim tabs on my 1980 21 foot Aluminum runabout back in 1981. It totaly changed the ride of my boat. My tabs are 24" by 12"cord. With the tabs can adust for a great ride in the short chop or the large swells. Can adjust speed for conditions then adjust tabs for best ride.

With cross winds my boat leans into the wind and in the ocean spray from chop and swells would get the back of my boat all wet. With the tabs I adjust level the spray goes out to the side instead of up in the air and the back of the boat stays dry.

I started with the Joy stick control but changed to the dual rocker switch control that I like much better.

Re: Bennett

I have had Lencos, Bennetts, and even a set made by Teleflex before they quit making them. Get the Bennets. They work just as well as any of the others you might run across (actually they acculate a bit slower than the Lencos, but that is to your advantage really) but what is much more important is the after sales service of Bennett. There is no company operating in this country that has better service than Bennett. None, not a one. That alone is reason enough to pick them in my book. I think I need to say that again. Not a single company in the country, and maybe in the world, has better after the sale service that Bennett Marine. In fact there isn't another company that I can think of that even begins to come close. They are that good. You can not have a problem with one of their units that they will not make right. I don't care which model, I don't care when it was made, I don't care if it was your fault, your dealer's fault, or Bennetts fault, they will work with you to make it right. Its just not possible to tell you how good they are, but one of the real beautys of it is that you'll probably never need to use any of that service. Their products are as reliable as any made by anyone.

Thom

Re: Bennett

Ditto on the service from Bennett, There are 2 guys there that go by the name of Tabman and Tabman II on the Internet(I think Tabman II visits this board). They always go above and beyond with technical help and parts replacements.
