1984 rude 70hp
Darn boats costing me more than being married.
I just noticed after replacing the prop that come off in 25 feet of water(due to my neglect) that the shaft is bent. On the trailing end of the shaft it is off 1/16 th of an inch. I guess it has been that way for years. Its always had a little wobble on the engine. The manual makes repair look pretty involved. Am I setting myself up for trouble by not fixing this ???

A machine shop can usually straighten the shaft, you've got to remove it though. It's not that expensive to have done either. It may be a good idea to replace the rear bearing while you have the lower unit apart.
