bent push rod problem

if I have bent a push rod following water in the cylinder, does anyone know what the signs would be to show it is bent. Also can running the engine do further damage if it is bent?

I have no idea what motor you are talking about, but it is usually obvious once valve cover is off. Otherwise, rolling them on a glass pane will show if it is out of round.

that I put on yesterday, it explains it more deeply and I could really do with the advice.

The rocker arm could be pushed to one side. When the valve is closed it could be loose.
