Bent Skeg?

Is there any way to straighten it? I realized mine is bent and tries to turn to the right.

You should be able to straighten it out. Some skegs are harder to do than others. An OMC skeg moves pretty easy, a Yamaha skeg is pretty brittle, etc. We use 2 hammers or a hammer and a body dolly. Just work it slow, take your time.

That being said, unless it's bent a ton it's probably not the cause of your steering torque. Might be but maybe not.

this might be a good idea BEFORE you take a hammer to it . i have a johnson 15 that is supposed to be bent .
